Introduced in 2009 and modeled after the North American Effie competition, the Collegiate Effie competition gives participants a chance to create comprehensive marketing communication cases that address real world challenges for real world marketers.
Students are expected to think and act like professional marketers by developing a strategic, creative and effective solution to a marketing challenge proposed by their “client.”
The inaugural challenge was offered by Heineken USA. The Collegiate Effie Awards Heineken USA PSA Challenge tasked students with creating a public service marketing communications campaign, in an effort to communicate how consumers should focus on making good decisions when choosing to drink or being around those who drink.
Each year the competition will present at least one new challenge.

Please note all participants must be 21 years of age or older and enrolled in an undergraduate program.
Students must be at least 18 years of age and enrolled in an accredited U.S. educational institution. This Challenge is open to masters students as well.
Qualifying campaigns are judged by industry professionals of various disciplines – creative, strategic planning, media strategy, branding, social media & marketing, digital, etc.(View Judges. Selected finalist teams have the opportunity to present to the client’s marketing team.
