2008 Global Effie Competition: CLOSED

Entries are no longer being accepted into the 2008 Global Effie competition.

For your reference on how the competition works, below is information regarding eligibility, deadlines and fees that were valid for the 2008 competition.

Marketing communications that succeed in multiple regions are essential to effective brand building. The Global Effies were created in 2003 to honor campaigns that have proven their effectiveness in multiple markets worldwide.

Eligibility for 2008 Competition

  • Campaigns entering this award must be for a single brand idea running across at least four countries in two or more regions worldwide. The five regions are defined as: Africa & the Middle East; Asia Pacific; Europe; Latin America & the Caribbean (includes Mexico); North America (U.S. & Canada).
  • The campaign must have run between September 1, 2004 and October 30, 2007 in all countries submitted, and must have run in at least one of the countries between September 1, 2006 and September 30, 2007.
  • Campaigns that are produced by multiple parties (advertising agencies, media agencies, etc.) can only be submitted for consideration once.

Deadline & Fees

The on-time entry deadline was November 16, 2007. If entrants completed their entries and had all required elements into our office on or before November 16th they were eligible for the on-time entry fee of US$970.

If they planned to submit their entry after the November 16th deadline, they pre-registered their entry in the Global Effie online entry system. Everyone had up until December 12th to submit their work. The fee depended upon when the entrant got their entry into Effie Headquarters.

Here’s how it worked:

On-time: November 16, 2007
Entries submitted on or before November 16, 2007
Entry Fee = $970 USD

Extension: November 17-28, 2007
Entry Fee = $1095 USD

Last Chance: November 29-December 12, 2007
Entry Fee = $1170 USD

By entered we mean all components finalized, all materials in our hands, payment received, etc.
