Can I enter an initiative that started running before September 1, 2007?

Communications efforts may have been introduced earlier than September 1, 2007, but must have run between September 1, 2007 and October 30, 2010 and have data relative to the qualifying time.

What if I cannot make the deadline?

If you plan to enter the competition, please register in the Global Effie online entry system. Whether or not you finally submit, this will help us to expect and plan for your entry. Registration is a quick and easy process. The online entry system allows you to log-in and out as many times as you wish to work on your entry once you have registered. Your entry is only officially submitted once you formally click the “submit” button at the end of the process. You only need to pay for your entry when you officially submit it.

The Entry Deadlines for this year are To Be Determined. There is a late fee schedule for all entries submitted after the entry deadline; please refer to the Eligibility, Deadline, Fees page for more detailed information.

I want to make sure my entry is completed correctly. Any suggestions?

We recommend that you review the entry guidelines packet and the cases of past winners that are published online in the Winners Showcase. Please note: any DVDs submitted must be in NTSC format, NOT PAL, and English translations must be provided for any non-English executions.

When will I find out if I am a winner?

All entrants will be notified if their entry is a winner in April. The level of the win (whether it was deemed a Gold, Silver, or Bronze winner) is announced at the awards ceremony in June 2011.

I am interested in becoming a judge? How does this work?

Judging is by invitation only. However, we are always looking for new judges, so please complete the Judging Application and a member of the Effie staff will be in contact with you.

When is an entry considered complete? Will I receive an entry confirmation?

All entrants must submit 30 copies of the completed entry form, the corresponding creative executions and payment to our office. A submission is not considered complete until all of the above has been received at the Effie Headquarters in New York. Once the entry has been processed, you will receive a confirmation notice.

I worked with another agency on an entry I would like to submit. How does this work?

Entrants are required to work together to submit a joint effort and to credit all main creative and strategic partners. This is also the best means of insuring a strong entry because judges will want to see all data and work relevant to your effort’s success. We encourage all entrants to credit all companies involved in the effort’s creation on the credits page of the online entry system. See how your credits will appear if you are a winner here.
