EFFIE AWARDS ANNOUNCES MARKETERS WITH THE MOST WINS AND
MEMBERS OF THE 2010 GRAND EFFIE JURY


BBDO, DDB and Leo Burnett Among Leading Agencies; Judges from P&G, Converse, Razorfish and TBWA to Determine Grand Effie Winner on June 8

April 21, 2010 (New York, NY)– With an impressive 11 winning entries each, BBDO and DDB agencies lead the 2010 Effie Awards with the most wins. The Effie Awards honor the most significant achievement in marketing communications: ideas that work. Gold, Silver and Bronze Effie winners will be announced at the 42nd annual Effie Gala on June 8, 2010 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York.

Marketers with the most wins include Frito-Lay, winning a total of six Effies, and Unilever with four wins. MillerCoors’ “1 Second Ad Campaign” for Miller High Life and “H*Commerce” for McAfee each won three Effies in three different categories.

The best in show, the Grand Effie award, will be chosen the day of the gala from among the top scoring entries, by a panel of judges including:

Details on Winners

Landing six Effies, Juniper Park led BBDO’s wins, while BBDO’s New York, Atlanta and Energy BBDO agencies combined won five Effies. DDB’s 11 wins were shared among DDB’s Chicago, New York and West agencies (8) and Tribal DDB (3). Leo Burnett agencies followed closely in the Effie win tally, with ten wins including Leo Burnett’s Sydney, Chicago and Michigan offices (8) and its Hispanic agency,
Lapiz (2).

The most recognized media agencies in the 2010 Effie Awards competition include OMD, which will take home two trophies as the lead agency on two wins and is credited as media partner in 15 additional winning campaigns. Mindshare also won two Effie Award trophies, in addition to partnering with agencies on 11 other Effie winning campaigns. Starcom MediaVest Group earned an Effie trophy and collaborated as a media partner on 11 Effie winning campaigns.
