The Field Museum of Chicago is a respected institution. It's also perceived as dusty and traditional, especially compared to other modern and exciting Chicago offerings. So, to get people to come see an exhibit about mythic creatures, The Field brought mythic creatures to the people. Unicorns and mermaids took to the streets of Chicago forcing people to reconsider their preconceived notions of fantasy and reality, and of the museum. The result? A success of magical and mythical proportions.
