To win credit cardholders in an unforgiving market with a less competitive offering, Standard Chartered Bank created a new marketing system that used trending content to identify and convert unsuspecting audiences. This 'Algorithm Agent' used long-tails of interest data to personalise and serve branded content in real-time and at scale. It immediately reversed the market’s declining trend, achieved a record in card applications, and proved a more efficient and sustainable marketing approach unseen in the category.

The lazy way out
With the objective of introducing Vodafone Cash as a utility bill solution, a challenge emerged given Fawry's dominance over the bill payment scene. To activate Vodafone Cash’ base and position it as a bill payment tool, we had to break the boundary between the provider and the consumer. And so, we spotted a trait: Egyptians are lazy. We positioned Vodafone Cash as a service catering to the lazy. We went bold and claimed gold; acquiring half a million subscriptions to Vodafone Cash and activating 85% of the base.
