​2021 Effie Awards United States Opens Call for Entries, Introduces Digital Effies

The Effie Awards United States competition, which awards effectiveness in marketing, has opened 2021 Call for Entries. Entry deadlines run February 25-March 25, 2021.
 
Effie developed several new Product & Service categories this year to recognize effectiveness in industries including Gaming & E-Sports and Education & Training. A Crisis Response / Critical Pivot category has also been added to the Topical Marketing  and Commerce & Shopper categories.
 
The 2021 competition is putting further emphasis on the digital and social space with the introduction of the Digital Effies, which include the following categories:
  • Direct to Consumer – for effective D2C efforts for any product or service across all marketplace segments
  • Engaged Community – for any action or business idea that has had an exceptionally positive impact on the market position of a brand, product or service. Single marketing activities and entire marketing programs are eligible.
  • Influencer Marketing – for brands that effectively worked with key influencers to reach their target audience to achieve short or long-term marketing goals.
  • Performance Marketing – recognizing the most effective performance marketing efforts that demonstrated how their effort drove results for the business using performance marketing KPIs.
  • Social Media – for campaigns that set out with the explicit purpose of using social as the primary touchpoint or have social at their heart.

All marketing work that ran in the United States between September 21, 2019 and December 31, 2020 is eligible to enter. Entry fee discounts are available for non-profit organizations, new entrants, and entries received before January 25.
 
Finalists and winners will receive points toward their ranking in the Effie Index, which globally ranks the most effective brands, marketers and agencies. Additionally, Gold winners will be eligible to compete in the 2022 Global Best of the Best competition.
