Darren began his planning career with JWT working on Shell Europe and TNT International Express before founding his own digital agency, where he led the likes of Kellogg’s and Coco-Cola into the first digital revolution.

Prior to joining McCann Darren’s career spanned major UK retailers Morrisons, ASDA and Greggs, as well as major brands such as the BBC, Whiskas, Arla and Miele applying strategic planning principles across integrated, digital, social and shopper disciplines.

Darren led strategy delivery on the Aldi business across the UK and Republic of Ireland since 2016 and as a champion of McCann’s thriving creative effectiveness culture has led McCann Worldgroup Europe to 9 consecutive #1 Rankings in the Effie Index global rankings.

He has authored over 40 major effectiveness awards including IPA Gold and 6 Grand Effies across UK, Europe and Global competitions.

His expertise in insight generation was also recognised with a coveted national MRS Award in 2018 for the integration of research in management decision making.


Jamie Peate​​​​​​​ (Global Head of Effectiveness & Retail)

Jamie has helped to drive a culture at local, regional and global levels that holds creativity and effectiveness central to all of the agency’s output. His strategic approach to the Aldi account exemplifies his approach – long running campaigns such as Like Brands and Kevin the Carrot have reaped benefits for the client and helped redefine the grocery sector.

A proud northerner and champion of creativity in Manchester, Jamie got his first taste of retail at his parent’s shop near Blackpool. He first joined McCann Manchester as a recent graduate before forming his own insight and innovation agency Blue Banana in the early 1990s. When the agency became part of McCann Manchester 20 years later, Jamie returned as Director of Strategy and Insight.

He is the Global Head of Effectiveness for McCann Worldgroup and also Head of Retail Strategy, leading strategy for Aldi globally and the Retail Global Impact Practice which supports, promotes and shares best thinking, approaches and practice for retail globally.

Throughout the years, Bruno has worked with top global brands like Magnum Ice Cream, Cif, Coca-Cola, Google, Heinz, Burger King, and Toyota. He was shortlist in the Young Lions Program Brazil 2021 and has been honoured with several awards, including a Cannes Grand Prix in Outdoor, a Gold and 4x Silvers in Effie Europe; a Gold and a Silver in Effie Latam; and a Gold in the Premios Eficacia Spain.
