On June 23 in Cannes, France, Effie Worldwide and Warc, the global marketing intelligence service, revealed the results of the inaugural Effie Effectiveness Index.

After analyzing finalist & winner data from 40 worldwide Effie competitions, Procter & Gamble was recognized as the most effective advertiser, McDonald’s as the most effective brand, Omnicom as the most effective advertising holding company and BBDO Worldwide as the most effective advertising agency network. Sancho BBDO of Bogota, Colombia was recognized as the most effective individual agency office, while Wieden & Kennedy, based in Portland, Oregon, USA was recognized as the most effective independently held advertising agency.

The comprehensive rankings, which can be filtered by region, country and product category (along with detailed information surrounding the point system) can be found at www.effieindex.com

The Index – along with its expansion plans of customized reports, industry research data and multi-tiered search capabilities – is the ultimate benchmark in recognizing the architects of marketing communications effectiveness.

Whether mainstream or unconventional, digital or print, design or advertising, paid or unpaid – any form of marketing communications can enter the Effie competition, and therefore be eligible for inclusion in the Index rankings. Since industry norms fluctuate from market to market, international programs may have additional entry requirements and judging parameters.

To be considered, work must be submitted into participating worldwide competitions. Effie Worldwide currently has more than 40 partners running Effie programs across the globe. For additional entry information and a complete list of worldwide programs, click here.
